## What is a telemedicine platform?

MedConnect is professional telehealth software that runs remote consultations end to end: scheduling, secure video, patient records, billing and measurements from compatible medical devices configured for the deployment.

Most telehealth platforms stop at video. MedConnect is built around the clinical exam: devices approved during scoping feed the patient workflow, AI can prepare a draft note for review, and the built-in specialist-referral module works with your own experts. An optional Omnidoc connector can complement that workflow.

The platform supports regional cloud and on-premise deployment options. Architecture, data residency, identity and US BAA requirements are defined with your IT and compliance teams during implementation. The same software drives our [telemedicine carts](/pt/carrinho-telemedicina) and [telemedicine kits](/pt/maleta-telemedicina).

## Video software or clinical telehealth platform?

Video connects the patient and clinician. MedConnect adds the clinical data, records, billing and actions needed to support diagnosis.

MedConnect can complement your existing scheduling or line-of-business software by adding remote clinical exams, connected devices and a structured patient record.

### Choose MedConnect if…
- ✓A nurse or care professional assists the patient.
- ✓The clinician needs live ECG, auscultation, images and vital signs.
- ✓Measurements from configured devices must feed the patient record.
- ✓You are deploying across multiple sites, teams or equipment configurations.
- ✓You need specialist referral, business-system integrations or a specific hosting model.

### A video-first tool may be enough if…
- •You practise independently and only see your existing patients.
- •Your needs are limited to video, documents and payment.
- •You do not need medical devices, an assisted workflow or multi-site deployment.

MedConnect is designed to deliver a remote clinical examination and coordinate its workflow, not only to open a video call.

## FAQ — Telehealth software
What is a telehealth platform?
A telehealth platform is clinical software used to schedule remote consultations, run secure video visits, share patient data, connect diagnostic devices, and integrate with EHR/EMR systems. MedConnect adds connected-device workflows, AI medical scribe options and deployment support for healthcare organizations.
Where is patient data hosted?
MedConnect supports regional cloud and on-premise deployment options. US healthcare organizations that intend to process protected health information must use an appropriately configured environment and execute a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Promotal before transmitting PHI. Deployment architecture, data residency and integration requirements are defined during implementation. Promotal operates an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information security management system.
How long does it take to train nurses on the platform?
The MedConnect interface is designed for assisted-telemedicine workflows. Initial training typically takes half a day and is adjusted to the selected roles, devices and integrations. When Elara is enabled, its drafts must be reviewed and approved by a healthcare professional.
Can we use the platform without MedConnect hardware?
Yes. MedConnect is first and foremost telemedicine software. It works with your own compatible diagnostic devices, and can also connect telemedicine carts, kits, backpacks and 20+ MedConnect medical devices in one clinical workflow.
Can MedConnect integrate with our EHR or other healthcare systems?
MedConnect provides secured APIs and configurable healthcare integrations. Compatibility, data mapping and the required interfaces depend on the target EHR/EMR, local market and deployment, so our team validates them during technical discovery rather than claiming universal compatibility.
How does billing work on the platform?
MedConnect can connect insurance-card, billing and electronic-claim workflows through the services configured for the deployment. Eligibility checks, coding and submission depend on the selected connector and local reimbursement framework, and are validated during project scoping.
Is the platform available in multiple languages?
Interface catalogues exist in French, English, Arabic and Italian. Exact screen coverage and the languages supported by the AI scribe and assistant are confirmed during deployment scoping.
